CHAPTER IV.
18
*The Spirit of the Lord is upon me: wherefore he hath anointed me, to preach
the gospel to the poor he hath sent me, to heal the contrite of heart,
19
To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at
liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord, and
the day of reward. reference v.
God does not send evil upon mankind. He sends blessings.
The Devil is the author of evil and causes only trouble and tempts man.
To escape the Devil's evil, Our Lord gives us the way out: in His Holy Spirit, believe in the Gospel of Christ with a meek and humble heart ("to preach the gospel to the poor he hath sent me") and rely on Him for all healing and deliverance ("to heal the contrite of heart, 19 To preach deliverance to the captives, and sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord,") and look forward to the day of judgement and recreation of His creation, the general resurrection and judgment of all men ("and the day of reward.").
